I went to the Montréal's "botanical gardin" (march 28th). Of course, at this time of the season, the outdoor garden was under snow and all, but the greenhouses are open, where they simulate different type of environnement.

In one of them, there was a special exibition called : "Butterfly go free". There were hundred flying free there ! It was very beautiful, magical  ! We are asked not to touch any of them, but sometimes, they were landing on us and all ! :D I had a lot of pleasure and enjoyed taking some in picture, with an iso 800 since we were inside (on a dark rainy day) and a 70-300mm lense. This one was definitly the best shot I took that day ! =)

"Leuconé" is it's french name. I don't know about the english name tho (I should have taken an english panphlet too). Scientific name : "Idea Leucone". It's a butterfly from South-East Asia, about 10-12cm / 4-5inch. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do !! :aww:

Yes, I saw that you have few pictures of butterflies yourself =) well captured as well.
Many people hates insectes, but somehow, everybody seams to be enjoying butterflies... go figure why !?
It's a very colorful creature, but I think there's more to it.
If I was owning a house with some ground around, instead of putting grass like everybody else, I think I would plant wild flowers all around, to create a kind of homy meadow ; there's always butterflies around these !

I agree.........

Yes, I bet it was magical when they were flying around you, reminds me of a chapter from "The Stone of Farewell" by Tad Williams.
Another beautiful shot, it looks very proffessional, you should get a calender together or something ....

Keep up the good work....;)

Oh, I don't know that writter... :hmm:

...What do you mean by calender :? I know what a calender is, but... what... erh... what you're talking about :? :omg: =(
:iconduck-star:
A Picture for each month to put onto a calender, one with birds and sunshine in summer, one with snow in winter, one with brown leaved-tree in autumn...

Yes of course... But... :? Do you mean that... erh... that I should rassemble my photos to make a calender ? (sorry, I'm confused :P )

Too bad we can't do this here :P

If you wished to unite your pictures together at some time in the future, for getting some photography work. Or if you wished to publish your work and you were looking for an idea to link a sequence of pictures you may think of putting together a calendar that people could hang on their wall to keep track of events and to admire your work :p.
